My inspiration: a love for birds
My inspiration for using feathers came from my deep love of birds and after years of collecting feathers I wanted to share that love with others by creating art that captures the essence and beauty of these creatures, making each piece look and feel as close to the real thing as possible. Each feather is a testament to nature's artistry, and I'm honoured to transform them into something truly unique.
Bringing birds to life
What I love most about creating these unique bird art pieces is watching the picture I'm working on slowly become the bird I see in the wild. It’s a magical transformation, and my hope is that when people see my work, they feel a connection to nature and the serene beauty of birds everywhere. The meticulous craft of feather art
Each piece at Uniquely Canadian Feather Art is a 'one-of-a-kind' treasure because of the careful selection and placement of the feathers. After I prepare the canvas I paint on the birds eyes and beaks using acrylics before I choose the feathers from my collection that are as close to the real bird in both colour and texture. Sometimes, I even have to gently shape them to perfectly match the bird I'm portraying, ensuring authenticity and artistic integrity in every detail.
